By singing songs and telling gnome stories along the way, you will search for the gnomes, and that's fun!

Vuurtoren Westerlicht
The most famous building in Haamstede is the Lighthouse Westerlicht. And therefore really belongs among these must-sees. Older generations will probably remember that the lighthouse was once on the 250 guilder note. The tower rises 53 meters above ground level and is still used as a beacon for shipping. The light from the tower shines thirty nautical miles away and the lantern has a luminosity of 5.2 million candelas.

On a seal safari in the Oosterschelde
One of the best ways to spot seals and porpoises is from a boat in the middle of the water. There is a very good chance that you will spot seals on the sandbars. The skipper knows exactly when and where the seals rest after their hunt for fish. Porpoises also regularly swim near the boat. Along the way you will receive information about the Oosterschelde National Park and about the animals that live here. Boat trips depart from the ports of Burghsluis, Zierikzee, Bruinisse and Sint-Annaland (Tholen).
